A letter from the President of BSCC

Hello members! April has come and gone and the BSCC has ended another successful month. We celebrated Earth Day with a luncheon on the 19th. Our guest speakers, Mr. Dave Thompson and Dr. Isabelle Fahimi, shared some history and great tips on how we can improve our recycling efforts. We had a great turn out and were thrilled to see so many new faces. We hope you will continue to bring new friends to join this worthy organization. Our next luncheon will be on May 17th. It will be our traditional Make It, Bake It, Grow It, Buy It Luncheon, which will be the last one for this board year. If you bring a prize for the raffle (one that you made, baked, grew or bought), you will receive 5 free raffle tickets. In addition, we will be inducting our new Executive Board. This luncheon is free, so please join us for some fun. You will still need to make a reservation, and can do so by e-mailing bscc.reservations@yahoo.com. We will also be accepting membership applications for next year. Dues are $15.00, and anyone who joins will be entered into a drawing to win a free Bamberg Throw. This month we held our Annual “Bazaar with Heart.” I want to thank everyone who helped in the planning process, volunteered at the bazaar, and mostly everyone who shopped over the 3 days. We raised 40% more money than last year and also beat totals from previous years. Of course all of this money will be given back to the Bamberg Community in the form of welfare grants and scholarships. Congratulations to Anne Montgomery, this year’s winner of the trip to the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, just for volunteering at the bazaar. Thanks Anne! Lastly, we are looking for members who wish to serve on the Board of Governors. There are many chair positions from which to choose. If you think you are interested in a certain position or want more information, please contact me or Brandi Collins. We would like to compile a list of names to pass along to the new President.
